I painted this tree after a severe period of sleep deprivation. My, at the time, 1,5 year old toddler kept me out of bed for hours each night and all creativity was lost to me. When we decided to transfer Lodewijk to his elder brothers room things changed. He felt comforted by his brothers presence and after a couple of days in which slowly eased into this new sleeping arrangements he finally let up. And I was blissfully allowed to sleep. I felt a kind of serenity, maybe even alignment after that, which i think is depicted in this painting. – Acrylic on Canvas, 50 x 50, €120,-
